Parents play an important role in each children life. The upbringing of a child to the important decision taken at our adolescent parents play a vital role. So, does my parents played a vital part in my sports career.
As this era is of new and latest technologies where I started spending time more on tv’s, mobiles and computers rather than enjoying the outdoor life and freshness of the environment. As the technology increased, we all became slaves of it wasting maximum amount of time on tablets and somewhere, somehow, we lost the gossips we used to had staying in a family. As time passed, I started facing eyesight problems which occurred due to watching of more electronic screens. Looking at all these situations my parents decided to make some changes in the lifestyles realizing that this is not only my issue but an important step to be taken for the whole family.
My parents started paying more attention to my sports career and encouraged me for more outdoor games and sports activities. To keep up my interest we started having outdoor picnics and some games like volleyball, tracking, cycling. This made my interest in playing outdoor games and hence started my sports career of volleyball. I started participating in school competitions and at state levels.
During my schooling I was very shy and having zero self confidence which always keeps me away from the games. When I was in my 9th grade our school organized the sports day in which various outdoor sports were going to play but I refused to participate in any game. Later on my parents encouraged me that I have to take part in the competition and they taught me one thing that time that either you are wining or losing the game that thing doesn’t but the thing which matter was this you are participating in the game. You have the ability to compete with another player. Then I take part for the first time in the sports competition. even my father took me outside every day to increase my stamina and helps me in the practice of the game. Moreover, best part of that competition is that I participate in the 4 games and win each game. Thar part of my life was best part which make me stronger and more confident person.
Side by I had back of my parents which developed self esteem, confidence and they motivate to the best they could.
My father always actively participated in his free times playing with me and providing the comfort by gifting me best sports shoes. We used to have early morning jogging and stretching so that I could be active for my sports career and on the other hand my mother took care of my health and diet ensuring always if I am fine and giving the emotional support I need.
Moving further, if any thing has a positive effect there will be a negative as well. Having a sports career was not so easy. Sometimes my parents would over-involve themselves creating a stress on me which emphasized the importance of success and winning. This pressure starts taking away the enjoyment and pleasure of playing and often affected my performance.
To conclusion, I would like to continue my volleyball career which has been somewhere lost due to focusing on higher studies as could not spare much time for it. Starting again will be a tough task but keeping in mind all the benefits and how it started will encourage me to bring that happy moments again with my family.
