The diagram illustrates the process by which the electricity is produced in a hydroelectric power station.

The diagram illustrates the process by which the electricity is produced in a hydroelectric power station. GYj
The diagram illustrates the process by which the electricity is produced in a hydroelectric power station. Firstly, the water from the river is stored in the dam at a higher ground level. The gate at the bottom of the dam opens in the daytime, and water travels down the pipeline. As it reaches the turbines, the turbines activate and spin the water at such great speed so as to produce current in bulk amounts. Eventually, the generated electricity is passed into the power lines, then distributed in the whole city. Moreover, the used water goes down to the low-level reservoir. In due time, the reverse process takes place where the water from the low-level reservoir is pumped up to the high-level reservoir, via the same pipeline it used to travel down to the turbines, to be used to produce electricity the next day. This cycle goes on every day, uninterrupted.
