What motivates us more, our rational, 'cold' thinking, or our irrational 'hot' emotions and motivations?
What motivates us more, our rational, 'cold' thinking, or our irrational 'hot' emotions and motivations? 2ypgX
Rational thinking, irrational "cold" emotions, and irrational "hot" emotions have always been a way of saying that one of the driving forces that drive people to be stronger. But I think to be able to make the right decision or behavior in each situation, both affect equally
Human thinking is driven by two systems, commonly referred to simply as System 1 and System 2. System 1 is hot cognition and System 2 is cold cognition. System 2 when operated usually consumes more energy than System 1. This is exactly why after a stressful mental working day straight, we always feel hungry and tired. According to the above theory, people are more inclined to act on orders from System 1, mainly because this process consumes less of the body's resources. It is a fact that in terms of performance, which is largely based on System 2 thinking, humans are far behind machines, typically computers and artificial intelligence. Another difficulty that people face is the constant ups and downs of emotions. This sometimes seriously affects other aspects of people's lives. To ensure that System 2 always works well enough, and thereby improves work performance, people need to know how to take care of the body, and not let it fall into a state of energy exhaustion. In addition, people should also learn to accept their tendency to behave irrationally and illogically. People need to learn to accept the unpredictability of their behavior and those of those around them. This is also the premise to help them become more comprehensive people.
For example, When a hotel security guard encounters a homeless person who is about to freeze to death, even though the homeless person asks to stay at the hotel for one night, the hotel's policy prohibits the homeless went in and the guard refused to let him in because he thought his reason was just following the hotel rules and so the homeless man froze to death. And vice versa, when emotions overwhelm the guard's reason, he agreed to let the homeless stay overnight and as a result, the other homeless person stole a few valuable items from the hotel leading to The guard being fired. So if the guard can balance both reason and emotions, he will give the homeless person a warm blanket to avoid the cold for a night. This both saves the lives of the homeless and does not violate the hotel's regulations.
So both cold cognition and hot cognition have the same effect on people's behavior, these two perceptions can be a perfect combination for each other from which people will make meaningful decisions and the most reasonable.

Human thinking

System

people

In addition

illogically
.
People
need to learn to accept the unpredictability of their behavior and those of those around them. This is
also
the premise to
help
them become more comprehensive
people
.
For example
, When a
hotel
security
guard
encounters a
homeless

who is about to freeze to death,
even though
the
homeless
person
asks to stay at the
hotel
for one night, the hotel's policy prohibits the

guard
refused to
let

because
he
thought
his reason was
just

and
so
the
homeless

froze to death. And vice versa, when
emotions
overwhelm the guard's reason, he
agreed
to
let

as a result
, the other

So
if the
