What I would like to share with you today is my all-time favourite old building in my hometown - it’s called the White Villa. Not only it is a historic place but also a famous tourist attraction - the pride of my hometown’s citizens.
It’s located on a hill not far from the heart of the city and faces to the sea. The location is assumed as a prime position regarding fengshui and surrounding landscape.
This villa dates back to 1902 and was constructed by the French in the colonial era to serve as a vacation home for French officials. Its architectural style is typical of French architecture with white-painted walls, white pillars and wooden windows. The interior is furnished with antiques made from valuable materials such as ivory, gemstone and rarest kinds of wood. But what I love the most about this old villa is its stunning view over the most captivated beach of our hometown. Moreover, all the surrounded area was shaded by lots of perennial porcelain trees which represents for the unique beauty of a coastal city.
Having been through ups and downs of history, the White Villa still stands the test of the time. Thousands of tourists flock to this landmark every year to contemplate its classic European architecture and lovely natural scenery. Moreover, the historical story about king Thanh Thai - a king of dynasty Nguyen of Vietnam, who was confined there by the French, also contributes to its attraction. To the local residents, it has been a place for couples to pose for their wedding photo and a weekend destination for families.
Our town’s residents are all proud of this landmark due to its historic significance and exclusive beauty. We are all profoundly awared of the importance of preserving such histocial relic for future generations.
