The pie chart illustrates the distribution of water consumption in percentage for various purposes. Overall, water was used for 3 major reasons namely agriculture, industry and domestic purposes However, agriculture accounted for highest consumption of water in the 6 areas of the globe except in Europe.
To begin with, from the chart fluid usage of the following areas are being analyzed namely North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Central Asia and South East. In North America, industrial sector accounted 48% of fluid consumption, 39% of water was utilized for farming and 13% for domestic uses. Similarly, Africa, Central Asia and South Asia exhibited similar trend of distribution where farming accounted for the highest proportion of water usage. In addition, Central Asia and South Asia recorded equal proportion of house hold fluid consumption.
However, despite the dominating utilization of water for agriculture, industrialization accounted for the highest number of water utility in North America and Europe both had a value of 48% and 53 % respectively. In South America 10% of fluid was used for industrial purpose, 19 % for domestic activity and 71% for horticulture.
