The curious accident of the dog in the night-time

It's a story about a dog and a young boy. The dog is only the wick of the bomb that is going to lead to an explosion in the boy's life. His name is Christopher, he is autistic, and one night, while he was in Mrs Shers' garden, he saw Wellington, that is Mrs Shers' dog, dead. It had a garden fork stuck in its body, this hint led Christopher to understand that the dog had been killed by someone. Christopher is a huge fan of dogs, for this reason, he decided to investigate to find the murderer. Along with his investigation, he wrote a sort of diary, which eventually became the book that every one of us knows. After he had investigated for a while, his dad forbade him to continue with his investigation and Christopher's dad hid the book in his room. Christopher managed to find the book that was hidden by his father, but, where the book was hidden, he found also some letters, from his mother. He was utterly bewildered because his father had been claiming to him that his mother was dead. Either way, in a secret way he read the letters and he figured out that his mother was still alive, and she was living in London. As the father understood that his son had found the letters, to regain Christopher's trust he told him that he had killed Willington, Mrs. shers' dog.
