The chart illustrates average illiteracy rates in the world based on different territory and ethnicity from the last year. It calculates male and female illiteracy percentage on places like developed countries, Latin American, East Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Arab states and South Asia respectively. We can see a huge difference in below mentioned continents. Mainly Developed, American, East Asia countries having a few percentage like 2-20% only besides that females having more illiteracy than males as well. In South Asia, Arab States, Sub- Saharan African illiteracy rate rise last year by around 30-50% respectively and female has more illiteracy than males here as well. Overall, all continents has more illiteracy in females than males and various places has different percentage as well. Some places including developed countries, Latin Americans and East Asia having fewer percentage when compared to Sub-Saharan Africa, Arab states and South Asia.
