Studing separately and studing in a group
Studing separately and studing in a group wEwal
It is generally believe that students these days study quite differently from how their past counterparts did. It is partly due to modern educational system, and partly because of the accessibility of the information technology.
It is evident that studing in a group brings a number of benefits to every individual in the group. First and foremost, students can discuss openly their problems with their peers, when they study in a group. They, as a result, receive various suggestions from different member of the group, which help them overcome their shortcomings. Besides, students share their personal ideas and experiences that help them to develop new skills and broaden their horizons. What is more, the competitive nature of the individual in a group promotes critical thinking and creativity as new questions and explantions emerge within discussions and debates.
On the other hand, it can not be ignored that studying separately has some perceived benefits too. Firstly, when someone studies alone, unlike studying in groups, they get a quiet environment to study in. This allows them to concentrate more on their study, which in turn help better understanding. Moreover, students get more time and flexibility when they study separately. They, therefore, can study at their convenience. Further more, studying alone boosts individual's self-esteem since they have to work on their own.
In conclusion, I tend to think that studying in a group brings more benefits than studying alone does. I, therefore, believe students should be encouraged to study in groups. The group should, however, consist of only four to six people.
