FAMILIES TODAY AND IN THE PAST

When it comes to a situation that is concerned by people, families always come first. From 100 years ago to now, families have some similarities in the tradition of each family. However, there are some that have changed dramatically in many more ways. From then and now, families are similar in keeping the good tradition in education and customs. For instance, all families have the same way that tends to educate their offspring becoming a person who is helpful to society and has a good personality. In addition, some families still maintain some fine customs, namely respecting ancestors that the house of whole families has an ancestral altar to worship. On the other hand, families today are more distant from each other than the previous families. In the past times, the family had had dinner together or sat back or talked to each other every evening. Whereas in today's society, it is easy to see that the family members have doing some activities such as watching TV, surfing the Internet, or having dinner alone instead of eating dinner together. These days, there is more equality in the family hierarchy. The husband and wife in households are fifty-fifty in who does the housework and who is the breadwinner. They both can share responsibility for each other. However, in the past, the pair have some differents in family responsibility. For example, the husband only earned money whereas the wife tended to their offspring and did the household work. In a century ago, the family had more members than the other one today. In old days, most of them are extended families living under one roof. Nevertheless, modern families often have about 3-5 members, some are nuclear families. Overall, albeit transformational, some families still maintain the same styles of the family 100 years ago that is why families still have some similarities relying on their home life. In spite of in the past or nowadays, families is always a place that we can come back, we can feel loved, blissful.
