Concorde is a supersonic airliner but it is not the only airliner that can break the sound barrier, Tupolev TU-144 is the Soviet version of Concorde. It’s first flight was in December 1969 just 3 months before the Concorde. The design of these 2 aircraft is very similar from the outside but if you look at the performance. The Concorde is outperformed its Soviet competitor. TU-144 range is too short compared to the Concorde and its cabin is really cramped, loud and uncomfortable but the main reason that make Tu-144 out of the competition are 2 fatal accidents in 1973 and 1978. The only two things that the TU-144 can do more than the Concorde is a ton of problems.
