In the modern world, whether schools should group students is one of the most disputable issues. On the one side, it is supported that it should be based on students with the same educational proficiency. On the other side, the idea of mixing students with different academic background is supported. It seems to me that although grouping students according to their ability is essential, I believe all students ought to be taught in a group.
To begin with, grouping students based on their academic performances has a number of benefits. In the first place, it will be considerably easier for instructors to prepare their lessons and teaching plans; therefore, teacher can save a large amount of time and time and reduce unnecessary fatigue that might occur. For example, in TU school, intelligent students are grouped together and taught separately, which results in the teachers spending less time preparing the lesson plan. Furthermore, this will also increase the quality of the lessons as the curriculum is designed for students with different academic ability. One example is that some students require a slow pace in teaching, and it will take time for them to understand what teachers teach in classes. When low-level learners are taught together, they are likely to understand what they learn in class.
However, there is a much strong case in favour of setting up a class with a variety of academic background. First of all, having clever surrounding can give a boost to the weaker student to put an extra effort with their academics. It is rightly said/believed that a good company can lead to/result in/ bring about success. For instance, having a classmate who is bright in studies and seeing how hard he works can inspire the other candidates. Moreover, it is also worthy to mention that students with weaker academic background will not feel left out due to mixed grouping. If weak students are grouped in low level class, it may happen that they start feeling inferior from other groups of students.
In conclusion, both method of placing students have their own strong point but I strongly believe that mixing students regardless of their test score is the most promising way as I think no students should feel like they have been left behind just
because they cannot perform well on exams. We should focus on how to cultivate their unique talents instead of separating them.
