Currently, people hold different view about whether the medical insurance should be paid by government. Some people hold the view that citizens should afford the health care fees themselves. Form my point of view, I am convinced that health care fees should be paid buy citizens rather than government. Supporters hold the view that government should take responsibilities by paying the health care fees. The first benefit is that it can reduce the pressure from families which have old people, this is partly due to that elders are more likely to get sick and sometimes they need to live in hospital which acquired a huge amount of money. Apart from this, if government can take healthy care payment, it would enhance people’s happiness and promote social harmony and fairness. As a result, the government’s reputation would be increased. Thus, they believe it is necessary. Nevertheless, opponents argued that citizens should pay their healthy care themselves, except those from less well-off back grounds. The main reason is that it can reduce the fiscal expenditure and government can put more founds on upgrading the facilities. Besides, if people pay themselves’ healthy care, they can not only paying more attention to their health, but can also help the aged access to a good medical services. This would enable them to acquire a better life. In conclusion, I would argue that individuals, rather than governments, should pay for their own health care, thereby reducing the cost of the government. Furthermore, this also motivates citizens to work harder. Although old people from low-income families should be entitled to free health care.
