Some people say that the best way to discourage smoking is to make smoking illegal in public places. Other people say that this is not enough and that other measures are needed. Discuss both these views, and give your opinion.

Smoking tobacco substances in some public areas should be banned so that people will be demoralized or may quit smoking. However, others may think that this is not a proper way to address this problem. Puffing cigarettes in communal areas has become an integral part of the debate in the present world. While the proponents of the argument are in favor, however, the opponents are completely against the relevance of the strict law’s implementation against this. In my opinion, legitimate actions must be taken that has a more positive impact than negatives around the globe and this will be discussed in this essay using a pragmatic approach.
To commence with, there are a number of arguments in favor of my belief. Firstly, chewing nicotine-containing substances such as cigars and cigarettes is hazardous to health and it not only affects the smoker but also the people around him. Secondly, to discourage smoking in general places, these products must be banned and the consumption of these materials must be made illegal. Also, a heavy penalty can be applied to a person who smokes in public locations. Lastly, I would like to share an example of the successful implementation of the severe legal actions that is according to the research conducted by Western Sydney University, by the application of harsh legitimate actions smoking was reduced to about 35% in Sydney.
On the other hand, the critics may point out that one of the most significant disadvantages of rolling out the strict laws in common locations is that people may start smoking in private places where these rules and regulations are not applicable. However, it would be great if other avenues are rolled out instead of making rigid legal rules such as making people aware of the harmful impact of smoking for both active and passive smokers. For instance, an awareness campaign in the Uttar Pradesh of India was able to reduce the smoking percentage to about 45%.
To conclude, even when there are many demerits associated with puffing nicotine products in public places, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages and this has become a crucial part of our life. Therefore, in my opinion, efficient use of legitimate actions should be promoted, however, its excessive misuse should be highly condemned.
