There is indeed a large consensus on the great benefits of outdoor sports and exercises for the development of children compared to computer games. While digital games are undeniable of high entertainment, I agree that outdoor activities are far more effective for the physical and mental development of children.
On the one hand, too many hours of playing computer games is a catalyst to negative consequences in youngsters. In physical terms, a sedentary lifestyle by sticking to game consoles would accumulate as an adverse habit, and very quickly become susceptible to physical health-threatening conditions such as obesity and cardiovascular disease in youngsters. Additionally, a pattern of behavior in lazy lifestyle advocacy contributes to detrimental improvements of bones and muscles during the formative puberty period. From the perspective of mental growth, computer games, especially horror and violent genres, are criticized as influential elements to exacerbate the aggression and hostility in kids. Addiction to computer-based entertainment also triggers an array of cognitive health risks including anxiety and depression resulting from numerous hours of intensive graphic concentration.
On the other hand, a plethora of compelling reasons is attributed to the positive advantages of outdoor experiences. Firstly, exposing fresh air and sunshine assists kids in enhancing the immune system, and cultivating better resistance against seasonal sick. Secondly, juveniles are encouraged to participate the outdoor activities to help them alleviate the pressure and stress from a hectic study commitment. Finally, a part interest in enjoying regularly physical recreation allows children to build up stamina and endurance as well as maintain a healthy practice for long-term development.
In conclusion, outdoor activities bring countless benefits to the physical and mental development of children and by far eclipse the detrimental aspects of computer game addiction.
