Many of us acknowledge the idea that the future is shaped by the past and present. And, we should learn from the mistakes that we did a while back and do not repeat, so that we can have a better tomorrow. Some believe that, present has nothing to do with what happened years ago. We should put all our focus on what we are doing now. In my opinion, I think we need to study our ancestors very closely but should not live in the past all the time, as we always have to set our eyes on what is ahead of us. A number of scholars dedicate their whole lives researching the history of mankind and gathering a great deal of data as a tool to achieve success today. They closely analyse and interpret what worked and what did not, so that we do not fall into the same trap again. Those studies have been shaping humanity in such a way that, it would be considered heresy to question any of those established convention in some societies. Preserving and respecting the past are sometimes followed as a religion. Innovation and creativities are often ignored. To some extent, they start to dwell in the past subconciously. Many modern thinkers and independent entrepreneurs have little respect to the history books. Their idiology is, the circumstances are very different now. New problems require new solutions. Following a rule or repeating a method hinders their originality. They are willing to take risks and break shackles. These new breed of communities do not fear failure. If they try new angle everytime, they will come out victorious eventually. I think both views are necessary to thrive in a competitive world where everyone is trying to distinct themselves from others. Following one view blindly may increase the risk of stagnation in a dynamic globe. We need to concentrate on present by observing the past.
