Currently in many developing countries, aging populations has caused many problems for individuals and society. The following essay will highlight some outstanding issues and provide some solutions. The first challenge of the aging population is that puts a heavy burden on the country's health system. Elderly people often suffer from chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, osteoarthritis leading to costly and long-term treatment. The more seniors people get sick, the government has to devote a larger budget to pay for hospitals. On the other hand, increasing rates of retirees requires the administration must effort to serve the growing demands of them. The imbalance between tax revenues and retirement pensions could cause a crisis for the society. To be more precise, I will take a situation in Japan as a example. This is the highest proportion of elderly people in the world, so the serious labor shortage is estimated at 6. 44 million. A few other developed countries such as China and France also have similar lack of labors. The government can implement a range of measures to deal with the problems of increasing life expectancy. Firstly, It is necessary to publish more and more policies to attract young workers from developing or underdeveloped countries. It can not only solves the current shortage situations but also helps to improve the economy. Secondly, the construction of private health facilities is also a good method to reduce the overload of hospitals. In addition, schools should educate for young people about the importance of saving money for retirement because when retiring they can pay for themselves demands without depend on their children or the government. Finally, the authorities should encourage to increased birthrates as it will bring the country back to the era of golden population.
