Profits from 7 movie genres

The given bar chart demonstrates US cinemas’ profits from the 7 most viewed genres: Adventure, Comedy, Action, Dram, Thriller, Musicals and Animation in the year 1995, 2000 and 1005. Moreover, the information is given as the percentage of the total earnings for each year. Overall, it can be seen from the chart is that whilst Comedy and Drama were the most profitable genres throughout the given years, Thriller, Musicals and Animation appeared to be least common to viewers in the same period. Plus, revenue from Action movies remained stable, unlike that of Adventure, which earned a suprising high profit in 2005. In terms of the three least profitable genres, one can see that Thriller and Musicals earned more than Animation with the figures of 7% and 5% respectively in the year 1995. However, in the next given period, a similar statistic of 8% was seen in the two mentioned genres, also that of animation was 5%. In 2005, Animation made the most money in the group with 8%, which was doubled and tripled from that of Thriller anf Musicals. Speaking to the next features of the chart, drama accounted for 28% of the profits in 1995 which was the highest ratio compared to other genres at the same period, the same case happened to comedy in 2005 with the figure of 27%. However, whereas there was an upward trend in the earnings of Comedy, that of Drama kept falling until it reached 16% in 2005. That downward trend of Drama also appeared in the profit of Action but in a milder level, this genre contributed about 17% of the earnings to the US film industry but less than 14% after 20 years. Last but not least, the adventure genre made an unexpectedly high profit with almost 25% in 2005, eventhough the figures were only 14% and 10% in the past.
