We live in an era where everyone is focused on their appearance. While giving moderate attention towards your bodily aesthetics is healthy, developing obsessive behaviours and habits are extremely unhealthy.
While people develops different insecurities, the most common one is usually related to their bodyweight. People develop eating disorders, which consequently leads to health problems. While teenagers are more prone to be insecure with their body as they are going through a transition period, adults can be affected too.
The social media and it's fake influencers have fueled these insecurities. While keeping a tab on your body weight primarily is not a bad thing, but when it starts to bring a negative impact on your mind and body, one should be able to understand that and get help.
The majority of people who body shame others do so, by showing fake concern about their health. Maybe they are already suffering from some disorders or diseases, which might have been the cause of weight gain or loss. While helping a person who needs help in this is inviting, commenting and making them feel less about themselves is totally unacceptable.
