Nowadays people usually retire at the age of 60 or 65, but some want to keep working as long as they can. Is this a positive or a negative development? Give you own opinion and relevant examples. KdGK9
Nowadays, people in cities are working day and night. Every group of people from young age to old age wants to contribute in economy. But it is found that suitable age to retire from work is 60 or 65, but some people want to work even after the given age. It is more a positive development than the negative one. Reasons behind this development will be illustrated in upcoming paragraphs. In recent times, it is clearly found that young generation do not support older generation in both aspects of life, personally as well as professionally. They do not want to carry the financial burden of elders because of their different mind setups and priorities. This is the reason, why several people want to work even after retirements because by doing so they become independent and would not become a burden for youngsters. To tackle this problem, recently Indian railway took a step in which people can work even after retirement on daily wages along with their pension. Moreover, grey hair work is more experienced than young people. Their efficiency of doing work in a given time is far more better than young people because of the practice they have been doing the same thing in their life. Also, they help young people to do the work efficiently and easily owing to their work experience. For example, Ratan Tata a famous businessman of India, still working at an age of 81 with same potential as he had in young life and also motivates the young people to achieve the same. However, it would lead to unemployment for youngsters as well. In the present time, with increase in population, competition to get job also increases. So, if older generation do not retire after certain age, they do injustice with younger once by taking their opportunities. For instance, a survey conducted by news magazine Hindustan Times depict that 45% of the unemployment for younger generation is due to the older generation who are still working after retirement age. To conclude, working after age of 60 or 65 is beneficial for older ones as it reduces their dependency on youngster as well as by doing work easily and efficiently along with sharing experience whereas it creates unemployment for younger ones which can not be neglected.
