National Education Policy 2020
National Education Policy 2020 pMNJ0
The NEP 2020 is the first education policy of the 21st century and replaces the thirty-four-year-old National Policy on Education, 1986. It is built on the foundational pillars of Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability and Accountability. This policy is aligned to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and aims to transform India into a vibrant knowledge society and global knowledge superpower by making both school and college education more holistic, flexible, multidisciplinary, suited to 21st century needs. It is aimed at bringing out the unique capabilities of each student.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights affirms that education is a fundamental human right for everyone. Education plays a great role in the national development of a country. As we are facing a major change in terms of knowledge globally, the Government of India approved the National Education Policy 2020. This newly sanctioned plan talks about major transformational reforms in the Indian academic sector. Along with appreciation, there is also criticism that focuses on the drawbacks of this new education policy.
