My Homeland Georgia was conquered by Russia for centuries, and even today 20 percent of our territory is occupied by Russia, in spite of that, 31 years ago we reached independence and today my country is build-up. In my childhood, when I had a dream to be a journalist, how would I have imagined if today, in order to learn better this subject, then share it with others and enhance and refine this field in Georgia.
It's my great pleasure, that I have the opportunity to participate in a great existing program, in which we can polish up our professional skills and use our knowledge for the benefit of our state. From my point of view, the experience obtained here will develop me both professionally and personally.
My short-term plan includes, certainly, getting back Georgia, subsequently share out education and experience with people living here. First of all, I think that the university is an outstanding way to share knowledge, so my goal is to become a lecturer at the Black Sea International University, which I graduated in Tbilisi and in which my lecturer, my recommender, taught me journalism subjects, she is constantly involved in sharing her foreign practice with students, and with her support I am going to share out my mastery with students of the Faculty of Journalism. Moreover, my plan is to do free trainings. I will instruct them how to build a news story correctly, how to visually package it, what is the main key in our future career etc.
There is a low quality of study and a lack of information in the regions of Georgia, that's why I'm thinking of going to the provinces and giving youths in schools the opportunity to divide my knowledge with those who are interested in this field and hand out the chance to practice, what it's like to stand in front of a camera and hold a microphone in real conditions.
My long-term plan is to create a college of journalism, where I can teach anyone who wants to learn, and there will be not merely Georgian lecturers, whereas foreign journalists who will carry out several trainings or workshops. There must be both a theoretical and a practical part, in the view of the fact that, theory is nothing without exercise, although in the majority of my homeland universities, it is often a problem to go through practice. In my view and hope, after 10 years I will create my own television, which will be independent and built on journalistic principles, where we will provide information to the audience with maximum accuracy, and not modify it, as it happens frequently today and I will employ professional journalists and people who will successfully complete the courses in my college. I’ll be in contact with various universities, whose media faculty students will have the probability to exercise at this place. This free media will develop with time, without losing its main key, freedom of speech.
