India suffers from brain drain

India suffers from brain drain X0ORA
Brain drain basically means “movement of highly skilled and qualified people to a country where they can work in better conditions and earn more money. '' money. ''. Indians suffering from this phenomena is nothing new. It can be traced to the British colonial era. Now why is India suffering from brain drain? In India, there is a lack of employment opportunities and this leads to people migrating to foreign countries. Considering if a person is hired, a very low salary is paid to the employ where as in foreign countries, for the same job you get paid a lot higher. Another major factor is the non availability of avenues to utilize education and skills. The increasing cut-offs and several competitive exams make access to higher education difficult in India. Abroad, they have an advantage over students from other countries in terms of skills and knowledge. There is a believe that working abroad is prestige. The same goes with marriages. It is believed that working abroad improves marriage prospects in India. Hope for a better future and comfortable lifestyle abroad is also one of the reasons why people are migrating and settling abroad. Now earning in dollars is no joke against earning in rupees. 1 dollar is 82 rupees in India. Seeing this difference, Indians go abroad, to acquire financial well-being and capability to buy assets in India. The developed nations are easing migration policies to attract talents to boost their economy. They target Asians specifically to take up intellectual labour. In conclusion, India needs systematic changes to build an overall environment that would be beneficial for the talented enough to motivate them to stay in the country. The government should focus on framing policies that promote circular migration and return migration. Like policies that incentivize professionals to return home after the completion of their training or studies would be welcomed.
