Hasnain was not the right fit for Shrada. What are his main red flags? Why was the break up a good thing?

Hasnain has had a significant impact on Shrada’s life since the summer of 2019. Though there was a sense of comfort and belonging Shrada felt with Hasnain, there were also noteworthy troubles that can’t be ignored. This essay will examine his main red flags and why the ultimate break up it lead to, was in fact a good thing. In my view, one of the main red flag Hasnain presented from the early stages of the relationship was how shunned away Shrada was from his friends and family. Though Shrada did not question it and came to terms with this, this act not only created a sense of secrecy, but also implied shame or embarrassment regarding her from his side. Moreover, his unwillingness to compromise was also a strong point of consideration, a main one being the matter of autonomy in Shrada’s religious status. Shrada’s religion has always been a point of contention, and Hasnain’s unshakeable response to that was a major warning sign. Additionally, after the final break, he also blamed her for every problem that ever occurred throughout the relationship. However, it can be deduced that the break up was a good thing. Firstly, assuming Shrada would give into the pressure of converting to Islam, down the line, this could forecast further one-sided compromises, such as, behavioural expectations from his family or problems regarding having kids. Secondly, considering the matter of self-love, assuming that if Shrada is in a lifelong commitment, it should be with someone who is proud to be with her, and not in any way kept a secret from his loved ones. Lastly, this break will undoubtedly lead her to leave co-dependency behind and focus more on her independent life leading forward. In conclusion, I think despite the hardship caused by the collapse of the bond, it can ultimately lead to a better life for Shrada. Additionally, with the support from her loved ones, she also deserves to be with someone who loves her for who she is.
