GREATEST ENVIRONMENT ISSUES TO BE TACKLED
GREATEST ENVIRONMENT ISSUES TO BE TACKLED 0kQLl
Some people opine that these days greatest environmental challenge is the exinction of animal and plant species, whilst others believe attention must be paid to other ecological issues. In the upcoming text, I have attempted to shed light on the both these views. However, I agree with the latter view, according to me the ecologocial issues most important to be addressed are air pollution and climate change rather than the loss of animal and plant species.
On the one hand, a few people believe that decrease in animal and plant species is the chief cause of concern in the comtemporary 21st century. This is due to the fact that the exinction of a plethora of organisms, the ecological balance is distrubed, the environment’s balance is compromised. This implies that the food chain that exists in the nature is now compromised as many elements of the food chain are now missing or are on the verge of missing. For example, In India, The Royal Bengal Tiger which is one of the most magnificient animals is now on the verge of exinction. It is a valuable part of the food chain as it eats feeds on animals like deers which have an over population. Hence, these tigers help in controlling population of such animals.
On the other hand, people trust that there are more important cause of concerns that should be addressed. The two main issues which are more in the limelight are the issues of air pollution and climate change. In this day and age, due to increased industrialization and urbanisation there is a big challenge on the face of earth, firstly, these is a lot of air pollution in developed as well as undeveloped nations. The air quality of most of the cities all over the globe has deteriorated over the past few decades. All species of living oragisms are suffering due to this. To illustrate this, In China alone, due to the increased air pollution, 70% of the adult population suffers from diseases like Asthama, the government of the Republic of China has made it mandatory to wear face masks at all times when outside. Secondly, the issue of climate change, there are a lot of heated debated around the reasons for the abject change in climates of various places, but one thing remains constant the need for action in order to stop the climate change and undo the harm. International bodies like the World Health Organization has outlined many plans and treaties in order to take actions to control the climate change.
All things considered, it is safe to say that the biggest environment issue to be tackled with utmost urgency is the increasing air pollution and fluctuating climate of the earth. As when this is tackled with carefully other issue like decline in the species of plants and animals and increase in ailments of humans will be controlled indirectly. Also, as air polluton and climate change are two issues which have come up in the past few decades and there are decent chances we will be able to bring it under control. As compared to the decrease in the species of plants and animals as this might merely be a case of evolution of these organims.
In conclusion, the burgeoning rate and direct influence of air pollution and climate change make them the most important ecological problems to be addressed, as compared to the decrease in animal and plant species.
