Scientists should be sponsored adequately by governments so that they carry out their research without any financial concerns. With the rapid growth in population, governments across the world must be well aware of potential risks the world may encounter. To illustrate, in many parts of the world people are struggling to access to fresh water. And many waterborne diseases threaten health, claiming millions of lives. We are also on the verge of running out of fossil fuel or other energy sources at an alarming speed. For this reason, experts should deal with these issues with effective solutions like converting sea water into fresh water or find renewable energy sources for the whole world. Another reason why governments embark on scientific experiments is that private companies tackle the world’s issues with their main priority, which is money. If it is controlled by private companies, there will be biased scientists or many problems related to making profits will occur. For example, they might uncover numerous facts from governments and public. For example, in mining sector companies are not willing to explain what sort of harmful gases are released to the atmosphere. Similarly, companies might use some harmful substances to make their product more effective. Scientists who work for these companies also might make biased decisions due to the fact that they lose their job. Overall, research in scientific fields should not be left to the greedy hands of companies.
