It is argued that by helping others willingly, people can receive numerous benefits including having better health conditions and a longer life span. Personally, I partly agree with this statement due to some justifications mentioned in this essay.
To begin with, there are two fundamental reasons that motivate people to give a hand to others. The most noticeable one is that individuals can enhance and maintain their mental health. To elaborate on it, people will probably regard assisting others as an achievement as it can provide them with a feeling of usefulness. Hence, they can possess optimistic and relaxing thinking leading to a much more positive life. Furthermore, individuals can create a better relationship with society. For instance, when we are willing to help a stranger to find their lost items, they may have the initial impression that we are trustworthy, thus, a sustainable relationship is created. As a result, they might find themselves belongings to a community that not only allow them to live in a secure and comfortable environment but also develops residents’ living standard and health.
Nevertheless, it is undoubtedly that helping others does not mean living longer. In other words, humans cannot avoid all diseases or accidents which can kill them unintentionally. To exemplify, individuals’' health always take the risk of being injured by some objective factors such as diet, environment, and genes in a way that is uncontrollable and undesirable to them.
To summarize, it is controversial that people doing others a favor have a tendency to lead a much healthier and longer life. In spite of the fact that some external factors can be opposed to the statement
