Choose a city you know. How can that city be made more bicycle and pedestrian-friendly?

Recently, severe air pollution problems oblige communities to come up with possible solutions in order to prevent the greenhouse effect and enhance air quality mainly in overcrowded cities like Baku. Transforming such cities into more eco-friendly states by giving priority to walking and cycling seems one of the most convenient ways. To achieve bicycle and pedestrians friendly cities, some measures and redesign processes should be done. - [ ] First and foremost, surely, reconstruction works must be done by taking into consideration the safety factors. Pedestrians and cyclists should be provided with secure and cozy walkways with all required road signs and symbols in car-free zones. Undeniably, a common path for car drivers and cyclist not only puts their life in danger but also make traffic issues heavier. Moreover, lack of parking zones is another preventing factor on the way to eco-friendly towns. As a solution sufficient and secure bike parking areas should be arranged all along these bikeways. - [ ] However, even if all these facilities that have been mentioned above were provided, there would be a group of people who are not lean toward this transformation. In this case, the government should take steps to create awareness among people about the importance of walking and cycling in the terms of health and environmental protection. By changing residents mindsets, cycling and walking can be a way of daily transport. - [ ] All in all today's Baku standards do not permit to be bicycle and pedestrian-friendly town. However, this can be tackled with some reconstruction works and the help of the government.
