A solution for Arakan, Conflict zone to Economic zone
A solution for Arakan, Conflict zone to Economic zone 3GY7d
The economy which has been in tailspin for decades is indeed needed to remake with trades, garments exports and tourisms in Arakan, heart of trade-economy in Asia, where civilians have been cracked down and intimidated by the military with the suspicions. Recently, Arakanese were disenfranchised due to the polls cancellation of UEC. Thus majority of them attributed that the ways of rebel would be the solution for their destinies.
Though the NLD government led by Daw Aung San Su Kyi could make progress in economy, education and transportation in Burmese majority areas there no afforded in anything in indigenous areas. 2018 Since then, immense civil wars fired up in northern Arakan and all political dialogues were blocked. AA, the heart of Arakan, supported by majority of Arakanese was attributed as terrorist by government, then war devastated the whole northern Arakan. Since 2012, the religion issues between Rakhine and Muslims tore the lives, trades and economics, thus the people were living in utter degradation. The two government, USDP led by U Thein Sein and NLD led by DASSK, have disrupted and used the Arakan’s prosperous national resources by tricking race or religion issues and Arm conflicts.
Arakan was in peace but it was isolated for 6 decades under the military role and there was no economic projects for civilians benefits. Our people have to come to Yangon, Burmese economic city, to work and get the very low wages — between 80, 000 and 120, 000 kyats. In Yangon, basic living costs are about 50, 000 kyats, then our remittance to home is just one third of our salaries. So we migrants had to pay 70% of salaries and human resources but 25% of benefits had to spend for our families or communities. This is why today-Yangon became developed city in Myanmar. This is a lesson to learn for us, everyone and especially prime minister working for government. The U Nyi Pu, minister of Arakan, appointed by NLD was very ridiculous and non-senses minister that I ever seen.
Arakan civilians has been in mire so far, but there is one solution that according to Dr. Thant Myint U, he said, “achieving this economy transformation is the key to strengthening prospects for peace and democracy. ” I am an Arakanese, my articles will based on Arakan issues. In Arakan, there are numerous land for agriculture in Maung Daw district and KyaukPhyu and Switte ports are the heart of sea-trade; beaches for tourisms. If textile industries were built in Sittwe and KyaukPhyu, adults and women would get jobs, and in Maung Daw districts, rices and other vegetables were grown. Then our garments from industries and rices from agriculture would be exported to Bangladesh and India where numerous populations were bombed and they had been facing food crisis. If such jobs vacancies are created in Arakan, there will be no peace dialogues to end the arm conflicts. It will be automatically finished. So government have to abdicate some conservative ideas to have better future.
Thinking economy is an opportunities to take lessons, peace and to make money for Myanmar. Peace dialogues and politics conference will take us nearly 1 decade again without effectiveness in anything but implementing job vacancies in every states will be more effective
in finding solution of long-term civil war and poverty. We hope next elected government will focus on economy than post-governments.
