Some said that nowadays people face greater risk in our modern life than they did in the past. Do you agree or disagree?

In this day and age, technology and globalization have been booming in all aspects of life. However, a school of thought holds that this inexorable development has placed people more at risk than they had in the past. Although advocates of this thinking have their own arguments, I still believe that it is subject to question based on the following assumptions. Firstly, there is no denying that a huge plethora of state-of-the-art infrastructure and public amenities have enhanced our living standards. These are definitely a driving force for people figuring out plausible solutions to some perennial issues such as pandemic, chronic indigence and adult illiteracy rate. Take artificial intelligence as an instance, this field, undoubtedly, has been a huge benefit to today's society. This may be attributed to to the fact that it not only helps us make better diagnoses and get better health care but also is capable of performing complex functions and backbreaking tasks, which once have required intensive human labour. Secondly, living in an era when people have been blending into a cross-cultural society has creates favourable conditions for them. As an instance, many students now have chosen studying overseas as as an endeavour to gain a deeper insight into alien cultures and adopt technological advances in some depth. This acts as a precursor to the flourishing economy as well as advanced civilization. From the reasons mentioned above, I am firmly of the opinion that the substantial progress we made has reduced the likely risks we have to come up against.
