In recent years, the availability of online digital media is rising and it affects that library is left by many people. It is suggested that University should only get digital books rather than the physical ones. This trend has its advantages and disadvantages. However, in my opinion, this is a good trend. The main advantage of digital materials is an action for contributing a greener earth. It is undeniable that global warming is the problem that humans are mainly facing now. Meanwhile, if Universities use the digital version, it does not need any steps that trees are needed to be cut down to produce papers and sheets for the essential materials to make textbooks. It means that the cost of making materials will reduce as well. On the other hand, this trend has its drawbacks, one of which is the unfiltered materials. All people from any backgrounds can submit their knowledge in the internet. As a consequence, the materials that students may get will not be filtered, which is extremely dangerous since they do not have strong basic understanding to eliminate which material is reliable or not. In my opinion, this is a positive trend for the forest are not required to be demolished so our world is becoming greener. On the other hand, the drawbacks can be solved by educating university students about filtering material skills in their first year. In conclusion, Universities tend to obtain more online materials than the offline version since the trend of digital platform is increasing. In my view, absolutely, it is a positive tendency due to a greener world.
