the ways in which you believe college course work will be different from high school Byo3m
During college, students develop and change personally, professionally, socially, and of course, academically.
The main difference between college and high school is students are now treated as adults, for example, in high school my time was scheduled by administrators, which will not be available during college, however every high school students has to manage their own time after school hours, time management has always been focused on at my school, therefore taking a further step to schedule my classes for college, plus my time after, will not be an issue for me. I believe that college coursework would be more difficult, but high school life is more challenging, students spend 30 to 40 hours a week or more in one location while attending high school, and on top of that, you have homework. You can easily spend 70 to 80 hours per week between extracurricular activities, homework, classes, and lunch, usually in a noisy, unpleasant setting that does not promote relaxation.
Although homework in college is more challenging, you are more developed mentally. Much more homework is assigned outside of class, which is time consuming and requires more effort, could be dealt with using time management skills and giving more time for studying on regular basis, other than doing all the work a day before the test; however, this is balanced out by greater leisure time.
Furthermore, while college is more difficult academically than high school, it does demand for a different mentality. At high school, it is the teachers' responsibility to instruct the high school students; in college, it is the students' duty to learn. A high school teacher risks being disciplined if half of the students fail. On the other hand, no one will speak to the professor if most of a college class fails or drops the course. Students are entirely liable.
Self-control is needed more in college than in high school. College students are required to attend class each and every day. And they must spend a lot more time studying. Students in high school typically spend 25 hours a week in class and complete 5 to 10 hours of homework, every hour spent in a college class requires at least two hours of study time by successful students. However, no one is screaming at college students to get up in the morning. And there are no teachers yelling at students to attend class in the hallways.
