LIVE ATTENUATED VACCINES and DNA VACCINES

LIVE ATTENUATED VACCINES and DNA VACCINES lMBob
For many years, vaccines have been used to train the body to fight off dangerous pathogens. Modern society has been witnessing the development of high-tech DNA vaccines for some time. However, the two most popular types of vaccines are live attenuated vaccines and inactivated vaccines. Even though they share the common purpose of protecting the body from diseases, live attenuated virus vaccines and inactivated virus vaccines are different in the ways they are produced, their effectiveness, and the risks that are involved. Firstly, live attenuated virus vaccine and inactivated virus vaccine are (3) different in the ways they are produced. Live attenuated viruses are actually nonpathogenic viruses that are related to the real pathogen. These viruses are weakened in the laboratory before the vaccination solution is purified. Unlike live attenuated virus vaccines, to produce inactivated virus vaccines, scientists use chemicals, heat, or radiation to render pathogenic viruses harmless or fixed. Secondly, the difference between the live attenuated virus vaccine and the inactivated virus vaccine is their effectiveness. While the live attenuated virus vaccine triggers a strong immune response and makes the body develop more memory cells, the immune response that the inactivated virus vaccine triggers is weaker. For this reason, live attenuated virus vaccines produce more resistance in the body than inactivated virus vaccines do. Besides, the live attenuated virus vaccine is effective after just one or two doses, whereas we need several additional doses of the inactivated virus vaccine so that our body can fight the disease by itself. (8) Last but not least, live attenuated virus vaccines are different from inactivated virus vaccines in the risk that is involved. Since the viruses in the live attenuated virus vaccine are actually live, they may possibly mutate back to their original virulent form and cause the true infection. On the contrary, the inactivated virus vaccine is safer because the dead viruses can’t (10) mutate. In conclusion, the ways they are produced, their effectiveness, and the risks that are involved are the difference between live attenuated virus vaccines and inactivated virus vaccines. For these differences, vaccines are being considered for different diseases to make sure that each of them can work well for the medical purpose of boosting the immune system and saving the lives of millions of people worldwide.
