As the global population has increased significantly, so has a rise in the number of cars on our roads. This dramatic increase has led to the suggestion that large urban areas should prohibit private vehicles from the city center. I completely agree with this to a large extent for two reasons: improvement of traffic congestion and reducing air pollution, and this essay will explain these reasons in depth. Banning cars from central districts of a large city will actually improve traffic congestion. Tens of thousands of commuters who use their own vehicles will cause various problems due to insufficient infrastructures and road capacity. For instance, if everyone tends to use their car in a roundabout or crossroad of the central area of Tehran, the capacity of roads will be overwhelmed. Therefore, some regulations like the restriction of using personal cars in main the area of the cities can be taken to solve this issue. Apart from banning laws, reducing personal vehicles can help dramatically rising air pollution. These days, most cars need fossil fuel for operation, while burning this type of fuel produces a variety of pollutants such as CO2. For example, the Netherlands government help their citizens to use bicycle instead of individual cars. This decision has been made to reduction of air pollution. To sum up, a way to improve air quality may decrease the number of private car usage. In conclusion, there will be many problems as a result of increasing personal car usage, and many city councils have suggested a prohibition plan for using private cars from the center of the city. This essay discussed why I totally agree with this proposal because this banning would reduce air pollution and traffic congestion issues.
