An endless train trip to the edge of the world WMon5
When I was 15, my family decided to have a trip from Russia to Portugal. We got used to travelling by plane as there were 5 of us. It’s an extremely arduous challenge to organize a trip by plane or bus for such a big family. Said that, my dad insisted on taking up the chance of going on a train trip.
At first sight, it seemed to be an awkward decision, because it would take much more time than a round flight. Secondly, we had to cross the borders of so many countries and change trains in every other country.
Finally, we were able to find direct tickets from Moscow to Lisbon without any transfers. Out of the blue, it wasn’t a disaster at all. While we were travelling, we saw so many beautiful sceneries like green plains and narrow valleys, wild forests, and white peaks of the mountains. What was more, we had a great opportunity to get familiar with customs and traditions of various peoples of Europe. As an extra advantage, we could try their national cuisine, and it was so delicious.
To sum it up, I believe that it’s not always convenient to take a long-distance train trip, however if you have such a chance, you should try it once in a lifetime. I guess, it will bring you a lot of new positive emotions and broaden your horizons.
