Some people argue that job satisfaction is more important than job security, while others believe that they cannot always expect job satisfaction and a permanent job is more important.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
While some people advocate that having a job you are fond of is more pivotal than job security, others emphasize that a long-lasting job might be a better choice over a job satisfaction. Below are outlined the evidence for both sides along with my own point of view.
It is an indisputable fact that a secured position grants a life stability; thus, a person feels comfortable enough to sign a rent contract for a year, take a loan in a bank to purchase a car or plan an upcoming vacation to a favorable place. Furthermore and what is more importantly, the mental health of an individual who has a permanent job is more promising over the other one. A proof to that would be a recent TedTalk conversation where it was mentioned that the percentage of people who were mentally sick plunged dramatically for the last year due to unstable work.
Despite the above arguments, I am of the view of those who believe that the ability to enjoy what you are doing is pivotal to a continued humans’ development. Admittedly, when someone is passionate about what they are doing, the productivity is increased and the time-to-market is higher as well; hence, there is a free time to invest in personal growth and learn something new that might be used in revolutionizing any work. Another reason for having a job satisfaction is to be free from an employer; therefore being able to manage their own time the way that is best for them. As a result, there is an opportunity to see a family more often, care about body health and do things that were always put on a side. A good example would be an article on Forbes that revealed that most young thirty-year old people achieved a better work-life balance after quitting their job they had no feelings for.
By way of conclusion, even though both views are commonly held in the society, I would like to reaffirm my position that a human can do much more than they think if they love what they are responsible for. Moreover, that love will surprise with an enormous energy to help build other parts of someone’s life and make it complete and happy.
