It is said that the fast pace of our everyday life, as a direct result of the rapid development of telecommunications technology and travel industry, has negative effects on individuals, nations and the globe. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is undeniable that technology is developing rapidly, and ways of communicating and travelling has been significantly affected as a result. I partially disagree with the idea that this trend has only negative impacts on people’s lives, and I believe there are also positive consequences of such a development.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why this kind of development can be detrimental for societies. Firstly, with the advent of new means of communication such as mobile phones and computers, people are reluctant to meet each other in person, since they are able to stay in touch on the internet or social media. Consequently, the lack of real social interactions between individuals can cause serious damages to their feelings and make them indifferent to each other’s lives. Secondly, it is proved that this new devices emit radio waves which can cause serious health problems such as cancer. Therefore these side effects make people’s lives be endangered and put a huge burden on the healthcare systems of countries.
One the other hand, I believe that the benefits of these technological achievements are far more significant. The most important positive outcome might be the amount of time that people could save by using new methods of travelling and communicating. In this age and day, people could easily travel to different parts of the world just in a few hours, while people in past had to spend a couple of days moving from one city to another. In addition, it has positive effects on development of societies as whole, since scientist, for example, could easily share knowledge and make more discoveries by online connections.
In conclusion, although the fast speed of technological development could have some negative effects on individuals and countries, it seems to me that the benefits it brings for people is more significant.
