Letter to a friend seeking advice on whether to join college or gain job experience

I m writing this letter in response to your letter seeking an advice on whether to go for a full time post graduation college program or to try to get a job experience. Drawing reference from my past experience, I would suggest getting some industry experience for few year and add it to your profile/ resume and then opt for a post graduation program I believe, you won’t be enjoying or would be able to take full advantages of a full time MBA program given lack of an industrial exposure which always helps when you would later try and search for a management job after your post-graduation. Companies always prefer candidates who have some prior exposure to the industry. Once you get a hands-on job experience for 2-3 years, it will not only make your profile look good but also add brownie points when apply for a job after college. Given you recently completed your under-graduation, I think you should look for a fresher’s job and apply for interviews in an IT industry and gain some IT skills for yourself.
