It is a well-known fact that sleep is important to all being lives. It is a resting of body and brain for humans. Over the past few decades, sleeping behavior of the people has changed a lot. This is not good sign for both mental and physical development of a person. There are several causes of changing sleeping behavior such as work obligations, technology era, psychological problems. One of the important causes of sleeping less than before is work obligations. The growing competitive market demands people to work overtime. Otherwise, they will fail to achieve their goals. Because of it, individuals must go to their work early and come back late. This means that they get less time to sleep. Also individuals think it is a key to be successful when they look high-profile personalities such as Bill Gates, Einstein. Another important cause of sleeping less is modern technology (technology era). Technology affects human’s sleeping habits in a bad way. Tech-devices radiate blue light which can stimulate our brains and the brain synthesizes the hormone of melatonin as a result. Before computer era, people used to read some books or have some times with their families. However, now people spend hours staring at a bright screen such as TV, computer, smart phones, tablets before going to beds. It affects quality of sleep. Finally, there are some psychological reasons. Unfortunately, with developing world, individuals live different matters in their own such as struggling to make a living, try being the most successful one, social media, and go on. Because of their competitive and hectic lifestyle, they feel so much pressure. This pressures causes anxiety disorders. with all these concerns and anxieties in brain, individuals have problem to fall asleep in their bed. In conclusion, there are many causes of sleeping less than before. Some of them are work obligations, tech-era, psychological problems. It is fact that without proper sleeping, high percentage of people feel chronic fatigue. Working in flexible times, leaving tech- devices before going to bed, making good and positive areas without concerns can be helpful to have sleep longer and healthier.
