What it is like to live in the most polluted place in the world

What it is like to live in the most polluted place in the world pbm
What it is like to live in the most polluted place in the world The BBC has presented a report about Mongolia which shows the living conditions of the population in the face of increased air pollution. Air pollution is causing climate change in the region and damaging life in the countryside and the city. According to BBC research, Mongolia is the most polluted country in the world. Each year air pollution levels get higher due to uncontrolled urban growth and a lack of policies to limit this pollution. The population burns raw coal to warm their homes, which has contributed drastically to the rise of particulate matter in the air. The government wants to oblige people to use processed coal to reduce pollution, but it is more expensive than raw coal. With climate change, the winter has been extremely cold and the summer has been very dry, resulting in an insufficient harvest of crops for feeding livestock. As the rural population depends on raising livestock (horses and sheep) they can no longer live in rural areas, so they are moving to the town in search of jobs. In the urban areas, children are becoming ill with respiratory problems, and several recurring cases of children with inflammation in the lungs have been recorded. Therefore, doctors are afraid that, in the future, there will be a massive increase in lung cancer. People with higher income can buy air filters to use in their homes, but that does not solve the real problem of Mongolia's air pollution. In short, air pollution has been damaging life in Mongolia. New policies are needed to limit pollution and, consequently, control climate change. It is necessary to include new technologies so that the population keeps their homes warm without harming the environment.
