What are the pros and cons of using cctv camera to fight crime

Nowadays, use of cctv is becoming popular specially at the places where tight security is required and
also at the places where there a human cannot withstand for a long time or in order to investigate a crime.
However, there are both Advantages and disadvantages for deciding this factor. I will discuss about some
reasons why the use of cctv is benefitial and why it can be a deletrious in some cases.
Lets begin by looking at some pro's of the use of cctv. One of the main positives of cctv is that it heps
in interrogation of a crime that has been taken place at the time when Cops were not nearby the crime scene.
This not only helps in reduction of crime rate but also provide people a safer environment. For example by
the use of cctv the crime rate in india is decreased by 51 precent.
Secondly, cctv also helps in 24x7 surveillance of a bank, museum, jewellry store etc. or a place where it is
impossible for human to withstand for a long time.
On the other hand, cost is one of the major fator that can be considerd while installing a cctv because
these cctv are little bit expensive which makes them hard to afford. In addition to this sometimes it can
infringe privacy rights if used incorrectly. Furthermore, it only helps in observation of a crime not in
stopping it.
To reiterate this, i would say that cctv has both positives and negatives. It depends only on the way one
can use it whether it's for scrutiny perposes or for the termination of crime.
