We cannot deny that the institution of professional tutor is very helpful, which may lead people to generate an opinion that whenever our classmates need help with their school work, we are supposed to advise them to turn to a professional tutor. However, such a statement is far from where I am standing. As far as convenience, interpersonal relationships, and study efficiency are concerned, I strongly hold that inviting my classmates to turn to me is a better bet. To begin with, finding a professional tutor is not as convenient as we usually think, as a lot of unexpected situations may occur. To elaborate, we cannot ensure that the tutor is always there when my classmate is in demand of help, especially before some significant events. Imagine a series of scenarios. If he encounters a tricky problem on the eve of a deadline, will the tutor still be at work? If he wants to figure out a complex point, will he still be patient when finding himself in a long queue? If he needs some academic help off campus, will they still be able to get face-to-face tutoring instantly? Considering the certainty of finding a tutor, by no means should we consider it as a convenient approach. In contrast, my own help can be more flexible. As classmates, we have similar schedules, which enables us to coordinate time conveniently. I can teach him between classes, after school or even during a meal, regardless of working hours. Meanwhile, location won't be a problem anymore. Instead of being limited to the tutoring center, we can have a discussion in the classroom, on the way or even online. These points vividly demonstrate the convenience of classmates' assistance. Furthermore, the fact that helping others can pave the way for a close friendship indicates that I am supposed to help my classmate myself. Understandably, when I spend time with my classmates, abundant feelings, including but not limited to gratitude, warmth and joy may well up in his heart. In this way, our emotional ties will be strengthened. Take the case of John, one of my best friends in my high school. He had some difficulties with geography at that time. We could never forget the good old days when I shared my notes with him, analyzed the ocean current for him and gave some classic reference books to him. Above all, after the academic discussion, we often enjoyed ourselves by chatting about everything, from daily things to future plans, and even forgot the time. Had it not been for academic help, I would never spend such a lot of time having a heart-to-heart exchange with a classmate, not to mention finding such a soul mate. Nevertheless, a voice arises that learning from professional tutors is more efficient because not only do they have more experience, but a deeper insight into knowledge. Ironically, study effectiveness is a comprehensive concept involving more than knowledge itself, but also critical thinking, multifaced exploration and logic method, etc. Hardly can a student have the opportunity to improve these capacities during the Q&A tutoring, which is all about cramming. However, between classmates of a similar level, all of these inner qualities can be developed. For me, the process of teaching involves the destruction and reconstruction of knowledge, both of which serve as the key to the palace of the academy. What's more, if both of us find a blind point during this experience, the process of one-side delivery can be transformed into a two-side exploration, which not only requires us to search for articles, do experiments and exchange ideas, but stirs up our ambition to an answer. Thus, an amazing chain is weaved: unknown contributes to curiosity; curiosity leads to ambition; ambition results in exploration; exploration brings about capacities; capacities serve as the real study efficiency. In a nutshell, I prefer to recommand my classmate to ask me for help when he is in need.
