Impact of Football on nations

Impact of Football on nations V1D
If there’s one thing people across the globe can agree on it’s that sports is single-handedly The ultimate source of entertainment. Global events such as the World Cup, Winter Olympics, and NBA basketball and tennis tournaments Have the ability to attract and bring together people not only from different generations but also from different ethnicities and backgrounds. Additionally, If you walk into a sports bar or café you would find friends From different countries and races that are supporting opposing teams, coming together to enjoy watching matches and tournaments as a group. In this essay I will further explain why I believe that such events hold great power to unite people. The world cup is one of the most famous sports events to date. It is hosted by a different country every 4 years. Which forces people to travel if they wish to attend, allowing them to be exposed to different cultures and races. I personally hold a strong memory of the last world cup, when my family and our Egyptian and Brazilian and Dutch neighbors, all came together to watch the matches at the sports bar in our neighborhood, each supporting their own homeland, while still finding exceeding enjoyment in the gathering. Furthermore, Football has always been a tremendously inclusive sport. Clubs such as Real Madrid is located in Spain but it’s leading player Christiano Ronaldo is actually from Portugal, which is a great example that different clubs adopt players only based on their skills and not their nationalities. In addition the famous football player Zain al Zidan is a french muslim who attracted supporters from across the globe despite all religious conflicts because of his exceptional athletic skills. However, The competitive and emotional drive towards sports lead some to react angrily and even violently when they clash with opposing team supporters. Also many players of the minority groups have faced a vigorous amount of hate and racism when they play for western teams. To conclude, the love for sports has created a safe and inclusive environment to a certain extent. That at times can be exceeded due to deep passion and devotion to one’s own country leading to disrespectful and quite detrimental disputes with others.
