governments should allot money to preserve these valuable buildings.

governments should allot money to preserve these valuable buildings. g5A
Architecture has always been an integral symbol of regional development demonstrating the history and culture of an area. In spite of new buildings erected rapidly nowadays, it still imperative to protect these ancient and traditional housing. That’s why I insist governments should allot money to preserve these valuable buildings. First of all, people can learn about the history of an area directly by observing or visiting historical buildings. Instead of watching documentaries or reading history books, which seems tedious and one-sided to know about the history, taking a closer look at ancient buildings can be much more influential and comprehensive. For example, The Forbidden City, the best preserved imperial palace and ancient architectural complex in China, carries Chinese history from Ming Dynasty to Qing Dynasty. For almost 10 years, with a lot of manpower and material resources invested by the government, it has been restored to its original condition. As a result, when sauntering in The Forbidden City, visitors can feel the prosperity of the past dynasties through those magnificent sculptures and engravings in a tangible way. However, if the government hadn’t spent money on preserving and patching these remains, today we would have no chances to see those fine artifacts, let alone touch the history. Hence, there is no doubt that protecting historical buildings is crucial. Second, traditional housing can be a cultural and representative symbol of an area. Since different areas have different conventions, the building in every single area will be disparate. For instance, Yunnan Province, in the south of China, has a typical architecture called stilted building characterized by eaves bending upwards and the whole family living together. This kind of homes can not only prevent rain from penetrating into the house, but keep the rooms of the house cooler and drier. The reason why people there construct such kind of design is both the climate and their family values. To be more specific, the weather in Yunnan Province is always rainy and hot leading to a fact that people have to build such homes to make themselves more comfortable. And due to their enthnicity, they have a strong will of family value so that they choose to live together in the stilted buildings. Although most of the inhabitants in this area have moved to other places, the stilted buildings are still protected by the local government in order to promote the regional and special culture to more people around the world. From what I have said above, historical buildings and traditional homes both require more attention and support from the government because of their contributions to the history and culture. I hope all these igneous architectures can exist completely for centuries.
