The pie charts compare the percentage of household expenditure two averages U. S families’ in 1979 and 2004. It can be obviously seen from pie charts, the household expenditure includes food. Transport, entertainment, mortgage, clothing, and childcare.
According to the pie charts, the percentage of the mortgage was highest in 1970 of 26%, while the figure for food and clothing was slightly lower of 25% and 22% respectively. Then the entertainment compares the same figure with mortgage of 13%. Finally, the least number is for childcare by only 1%.
On the second chart, in 2004, the mortgage was also the dominant choice and childcare and mortgage observed a significant increase by 9% and 24% respectively. An opposite tendency occurred for food, transport, and clothing which reached 12%, 5%, and 10% respectively. Furthermore, the percentage of household cost in entertainment remained unchanged.
